Each Thursday Alison and I each CASE (copy and share everything) from one of the current Stampin' Up! Catalogs. Today I choose a card from 2017 Holiday Catalog on page 39.
It is an exact CASE except for the stamp set and ribbon. I replaced the Hearts Come Home stamp set with the Birthday Delivery stamp set and the coordinating Birthday Memories Designer Series Paper. I also replaced the Real Red 1/8" ribbon with the Quilted Christmas ribbon.
It may seem like it I don't own every stamp set, but I don't so sometimes I have to improvise sometimes, that is what CASEing is all about. I am sure there are times you love a card and don't have the stamp set. I hope you find the CASE cards helpful for you to see how to substitute a stamp set you may have on hand.
The cake is cut out from the designer paper using the Birthday friends framelits die and Big Shot. For the scalloped edge frame, I just placed the Scalloped edge circle from the Layering Circles Framelits on a piece of Crumb Cake Cardstock and then placed the little smaller circle inside and punched. Then using the smaller circle I placed it on the card front in the center and cut it out and then adhere the scallop frame around the cutout circle.
The corners of the tag are called ticket corners. If you don't have a special ticket corner punch you can always use a small circle punch. Most people have one of those in their stamping collection.
I usually use my punch upside down so I can see what I am doing. For the ticket corner just place the corner of your cardstock into the circle punch at the desired depth and punch. Repeat on all four corners.

Great idea to change out the stamp sets for one I have. Sometimes I get in a rut and try to case ideas as I see them and get frustrated because I don’t have the exact items that were shown. Thank you for reminding me to use what I have.

Great idea for “ticket punching” the corners of a greeting. If you stop to think of what you do have available it is amazing what you can come up with. You don’t have to own everything in the catalog & it is good to see what you can use to still make a beautiful card. Thanks for the ideas & inspiration.

It is good to remember you can substitute things you already have. Thanks so much for your comments Barb and I am excited your Free cards will go out in the mail tomorrow from the drawing.

I think it is fun to use the things I already have while I have a ticket corner punch from years ago when we sold them – but we dont sell them anymore and I still like people to be able to get that effect as they may not already have the punch. But almost everyone has a circle punch of some kind. Thanks for stopping by and double thanks for the comment.
