Today’s Happy Birthday card was designed using the Sunday Sketches SS045 Template. Each Sunday I hand stamped a card using one of our card sketches.

Every now and then I stamp a card that I absolutely LOVE and this is one of them. I love the layout, the colors and the flower border on the bottom. The Flowers of Friendship has a coordinating punch (Flowers & Leaves Punch).

You will find the measurements for todays card listed on the template. To change it up a bit I stamped the flowers and leaves on Pattern Party Designer Series Paper. Then I punched them out with the coordinating punch. I first stamped the image on the Basic White rectangle and them applied the punched out items on top of the stamped image.

Heat embossing is a technique that adds texture and dimension to stamped images. You can see an example here on the Happy Birthday, a sentiment from the A Grand Kid Stamp Set. Don’t miss this stamp set. It is one I grab off the shelf often even for non-grandchildren cards.
To allow for me to tie the Bumblebee Gingham bow around the card front I cut the cardstock 4 1/4″ x 11″. Then scored it at 5 1/2″ and folded it in half to create my card base.

Originally I didn’t stamp the row of flowers on the bottom. Something just didn’t seem right but wasn’t sure exactly what it needed. Then I decided the to stamp the row of flowers and I think it really finished it off perfectly.
I hope you found some inspiration here today.

Patsy, that card is absolutely beautiful! Think I will c. a. s. e. this card. Love the black, white, and yellow together. The flowers at the bottom are just the thing needed to finish it off perfectly. Thank you for sharing your thoughts, talents, and amazing friendship. You are appreciated.
Thank you Barbara! Appreciate your dedicated visits to my blog and comments.
Patsy,
Totally agree that the row of flowers across the bottom was just the right finish for your card. Thanks for the side by side to see what that addition did for the design! Love these sketches!
Thank You Laurie and so glad you like the sketches
