Can’t believe how fast the weeks go by and here it is Thursday’s Just in CASE series again. This week I choose to use the Cake Soirée stamp set along with some fun candle paper from the Picture Perfect Party 6″ x 6″ paper pack.
Super Quick and Easy card
Today would have been my Dad’s 89th birthday. My father passed at 76, and my mom at 79 and they will forever be that age in my mind. Both of my parents loved my Stampin’ Up! Business. They were so proud of my accomplishments and enjoyed a couple of incentive trips with us.
Less than 1% of all demonstrators earn the incentive trip each year.
In 2012 Shelli Gardner, co-founder of Stampin’ Up! asked me to be on the Advisory Board along with five other demo’s I was so honored. I know that my parents were looking down and smiling. I sometimes think that they were in heaven moving stars around for me so that they would line up.
My dad would have enjoyed receiving this card on his special day, and I would have loved to share it with him in person. I will celebrate his birthday also by having his favorite Chocolate Cake with Chocolate Frosting topped off with Vanilla Ice Cream.
My card is an exact CASE except for the Picture Perfect Paper Ribbon which would have been super cool, however, it wasn’t available by the manufacturer before the catalog release.
Super easy and a great effect.
I decided to create a ruffle ribbon look on my card to replace it. So I ran a piece of the Tear & Tape across the card front about 3/4″ from the bottom and about 1″ from the left edge. Then I just laid my ribbon down across it making ruffles as I went.

Thank you, Patsy, for sharing your story with us. Isn’t it good to know that our parents are in heaven; looking down on us and smiling at us for our accomplishments? Enjoy that chocolate cake with chocolate frosting and vanilla ice cream. The birthday card using the designers series paper is an awesome idea. I like the look of the pleated ribbon; but, I just can’t seem to make the pleats even. Thank you for sharing your time, talents, and creative imagination with us.

Hello Barb
It’s ok if the pleats aren’t even, that is part of the unique look. Thank you for your comment and always appreciate it! Hugs
