MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Do you remember the story of the Ginger Bread Man it dates back to 1875. According to the author (whose name is unknown) it was told to her children by a nanny who didn't know where it came from but was told to her when she was young.
My Grandmother use to read the story to me and I can hear her voice as she would read " I can run away from you I can I can!"
It was from the vintage story book "Picture Story-Book Nine Stories" published in 1933. I still have this special book and cherish the memories spent with my Grandma. The holidays always make one think of those special times.
I decided to stamp today's card using the Cookie Cutter Christmas Stamp Set for my Sunday Sketches Card.
Sketch Measurements:
- Card Base: Side Fold 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" – Top Fold 4 1/4" x 11"
- Next Layer: 4" x 5 1/4"
- Next Layer: 1 3/4" x 5 1/4"
- Oval: 3 1/4" tall
Let your imagination run wild!
Sketches are open to interpretation. You can create a card exactly using the sketch layout, using a square where there is a square, or you can change it to a be a circle, or oval or flower etc. You can also turn the sketch so if it is a vertical sketch you might want to turn it to be horizontal.
For the card base I used the Whisper White Thick cardstock which is a bit heavy and makes an base for your card. The patterned paper is from the Candy Cane Lane Designer Series Paper collection.
The embossing on the Crumb Cake Cardstock was made with the Sizzix Big Shot and the Holly Embossing Folder.
The oval was made using the Stitched Shapes Framelits and Big Shot. I stamped the ginger bread cookie in Soft Suede and punched it out with the Cookie Cutter Builder Punch and embellished his cheeks with Real Red Enamel Shapes.
