Welcome to Sunday Sketches SSOO10 by Stamps to Die For.
Each Sunday I post a card sketch along with a card I created using the sketch. Sketches often help get my creativity fired up.
Sketch Measurements:
- Card Base: 5 1/2" x 8 1/2"
- Next Layer: 2" x 4 3/4"
- Strip: 1/2" x 4 1/4"
- Circe: 2 3/4"
Let your imagination run wild!
Sketches are open to interpretation. You can create a card exactly using the sketch layout, using a square where there is a square, or you can change it to a be a circle, or oval or flower etc. You can also turn the sketch so if it is a vertical sketch you might want to turn it to be horizontal.
For some reason each time I look at this card the song "these boots are made for walkin" pops in my head and I can't stop it! These boots are part of the Country Livin' Stamp Set that comes in red rubber wood-mount or our red rubber clear-mount.
I stamped up today's cards while celebrating my friend Sue who got me started stamping so many years ago.
The old truck is part of the Country Livin Stamp Set also.
The row of trees in the background are from the Lovely as a Tree stamp set. I then water colored it with aqua painters and reinkers.
I love to watercolor and I don't do it often enough.
Those that have been around awhile have heard my story about taking a watercolor class. Well I should say signing up for a watercolor class when I got there I realized I would have to draw – not my strong suit. Hence I excused my self from the class and never returned.
One reason I use stamps is I can't draw a straight line, a pair of boots or pick up truck.
Here is an older video showing how to watercolor using the Aqua Painters…

Thanks again for stopping by you can't imagine how much it means to me that you read my blog! Have a great week!
And don't forget the Online Extravaganza Starts tomorrow November 21!
Patsy,
Great card! Did you draw the blades of grass or use a stamp from another set???
Thanks for sharing
Thanks,
The Blades of Grass are part of the pick up truck stamp. I cleaned the stamp and then with a stampin’ write marker just colored the grass and re-stamped several times.
