Welcome to Sunday Sketches SSOO8 by Stamps to Die For. Each Sunday I post a card sketch along with a card I created using the sketch. Sketches often help get my creativity fired up.
Sketch Measurements:
- Card Base 5 1/2" x 8 1/2"
- Rectangle piece 1 3/4" x 5"
- Circles 1 1/2" (but remember you don't have to use circles they could be stamped images etc.)
- Banner 1 1/2" x 2"
Let your imagination run wild!
Sketches are open to interpretation. You can create a card exactly using the sketch layout, using a square where there is a square, or you can change it to a be a circle, or oval or flower etc. You can also turn the sketch so if it is a vertical sketch you might want to turn it to be horizontal.
The stamp set for this card is the Merry Mice stamp set from the Holiday Catalog on page 23.
The stamp set has…
- three mice images
- three sentiments
- a cluster of stars stamp.
You can choose to water color the mice or as in my sample today – just stamp it on colored cardstock.
I also showed in a previous post how to do a unique paper piecing technique to add color.
I absolutely love the 3/8" Taffeta Ribbon Combo Pack (page 20 Holiday Catalog) with this great Cherry Cobbler ribbon. Stampin' Up!'s taffeta ribbon has always been one of my favorites and I wish we had in every color.
The little scallop circles I cut out from the Layering Circle Framlits using the Big Shot, you get 16 dies in this set (8 scalloped and 8 plain).
The patterned paper is from Warmth & Christmas Designer Series Paper.
The color palette is Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake, Garden Green and Basic Black
I hope you enjoyed today's sketch and find the sketches to help inspire you in your next stamped card.
Adorable card and love the sketch! I am rather challenged when it comes to smaller stamp images and your sketch will definitely inspire me to use them more! Thanks!! BTW, with this stamp set going on sale starting Tuesday, it is going from my wish list to shopping cart!
Love this one along with Alison’s today. Thanks so much for sharing!
