I spoke with one of my customers the other day and she recently broke her foot – ouch! So I decided to stamp up some cheer and send her a card. I picked out the Polka Dot Pieces stamp set which is part of the November Border Buddies Bundles.
The Polka Dot Pieces stamp set is a cheerful 6 piece stamp set that coordinates with the Bird Builder, Elegant Butterfly, 1/2" Circle, 3/4" Circle, 1-3/4" Circle, 1-1/4" Scallop Circle, and 1-3/4" Scallop Circle punches. Since I will almost always be punching out the stamped images I choose to purchase it in the wood-mount.
I love that we have options for many of our stamps in either clear-mount or wood-mount stamps. What I buy depends on the application. If I want to see better where I am stamping I get the clear-mount. If they are something like the Polka Dot Pieces where they have punches or framelits that coordinate with them I buy the wood mount.
Clear-mount are great if you have storage issues. But no matter what clear or wood they store so nicely on a book shelf.
Each comes in a great case with all the images stamped on the spline and also on the cover of the case. The wood-mount cases are the size of a video case (remember those) and the clear-mount are the size of a DVD case.
Would love to hear what is your favorite stamp wood or clear? How about the New Photopolymer?
I still prefer the wood for almost all of my stamp sets. That way I never have to try to find the right sized block, and I like the nice crisp image. I really don’t like the photopolymer at all, since I feel the image is not as crisp. I do have a few small sentiments in clear mount since generally I stamp them right on my cards.
I will admit Carole that I wasn’t crazy about the photopolymer stamps at first but I am really starting to love them more. I have found the fine line ones like White Christmas stamp up beautifully. The only problem which is good also is they REALLY stick to your blocks. I still love the feel and look of wood – maybe it is all the memories associated with them.
