Valentines Day is celebrated in the US as well as many countries around the world. Traditionally it is a day of giving those you love special treats in fancy heat shaped boxes. You might even receive some special flowers – while many holidays keeps the floral industry busy none can hold a candle to Valentines day. Have you ever wondered how did Valentines day start? Or am I the only one, just click Valentines Day to find out more.
I can remember every year my Mom would buy my Grandmother, a special Valentine's box filled with fine chocolates. Much like the one pictured here. I was fortunate enough to have my Grandma just across the road and through the woods from me growing up. Often times we would sing "Over the road and through the woods, to Grandmother house we go…" while on our way to her house. When we would go visit days following Valentines, she would carefully open up the lovely box and we could pick out a wonderful piece of candy. What Valentine tradition do you remember?
I absolutely love these craft boxes that we sell. They are perfect for that special little gift, add a few papercrafting touches and it will make a real impression. I just wrapped a piece of 1" wide cardstock around the box to create a belly band. Since these were special gifts for some top achievers in my Diva & Dude Stampers Community I stamped congratulations on them.
