Do you like to sew? If you do you will love this project, if you don't you maybe inspired to give it a try. Many years ago you could hear some colorful words coming from my sewing room. Many sew to relax, but it created a great deal of tension in my life all due to the tension. Bunched up broken thread was enough to make me put the machine away over 20 years ago.
My mother always loved to sew and had multiple sewing machines, I think when she passed she actually had over a dozen. She claimed one did buttons holes best, one straight stitched better and so on. She could not pass up a sewing machine at a garage sale or 2nd hand store without buying it. She would then go over it oil it up and give them away to young women who were just learning to sew. I wonder how many have a machine my Mom gave them? Well today she has a huge smile on her face looking down on me enjoying something she always loved.
Fellow demonstrator and friend Georgia Giguere is really responsable for me sitting down to a sewing machine again. While visiting them at their beautiful cabin up north on the boundery waters, we sewed a purse using pieces cut out with the scalloped square die for the Big Shot. Click here to visit Georgia's blog and see the bag. Well that wasn't enough then she sent me a pattern and tutorial for these cute little tissue holders just before Christmas. Next thing you know I am down in my stamping room running a sewing machine. Our daughter was here and her Dad said "is that the sewing machine" she said "Yep!" he said "but you are standing here, how can that be?" she said "Mom is sewing". He still can't believe it, and wait until he comes home from work today and sees my 10 tissue holders.
These are totally awesome!! I really need to use my sewing machine for more then just paper!!
