Creating Custom Colored Ink Pads With Baby Wipes & Reinkers gives interest and personality to your card. You choose the colors add a few drops and let the baby wipes do their thing. I have been out of town this past week and when I was thinking what I would share with you this week for our Technique How To, without being able to record a new video – I realized I had not shared Reinkers and Baby Wipes. I will give you all a chuckle as you watch and oldie but a goodie! While the stamp set is retired the technique is the same and I created a new card with current products today to share.
Why no new video today and Why am I Late?
We have spent the last 3 days at Rochester, Minnesota at the world famous Mayo Clinc and Hospitals. It isn’t our first visit there this year while our dear sister in law LaVone has been going through treatment for Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). She was airlifted there a the end of April just a few days before we left on the Stampin’ Up! Incentive trip to Fiji. We were amazed and grateful that they were able to get her through those first weeks so she could start to recieve treatments.
Less than 1% of all demonstrators earn the incentive trip each year.
Less than a month ago we were celebrating the fact that her brother was a match for a stem cell transplant (there was only a 25% chance), everyone started to make plans for friends and family to take turns being with her. She would need someone there with her for the 100+ day stay at the transplant house. Unfortuanately life doesn’t always go as we plan and Tuesday we were told that she will not be able to recieve the transplant her counts are to high and the chemo is not working.
They have been given many choices over the past 7 months but none as grim as this weeks.
Choices
- To go home and do nothing
- Set up some chemo treatments back home to buy some time.
It was a very quiet day as we drove around the river valley area just to escape the hospital. What does one say and very little seems to matter when you are faced with these issues.
LaVone and I share the love of Stamping and we even did some of that to pass the time away at the hosptial. Stamping has gotten me, my family & friends through many tough times in the past years. Stamping is more than cardmaking it represents love, caring, sharing and giving. Think of someone you know who could use some of your love and caring through a hand stamped card this week and send it off to them.
Touch the life of someone with a hand stamped card.

Patsy – so sorry to hear about the very trying times your family is currently going through. I’m sure your sister in law greatly appreciates your support and it brings her a sense of comfort. Your story has inspired me to make and send a card to a dear friend of mine who is going through a time of crisis.
Patsy, so sorry your sister-in-law and your family and you have been going through tough times. It’s all so scary and sad. I’m heading down a similar path with my husband. They found his Cancer 9 months ago. His surgery is scheduled for December 13th, which is a Friday, if you can believe it. At first we wanted to reschedule. But we decided that our faith is stronger than our superstition.
Anyway, I will pray for all of you…
Praying for the best…

My heart and prayers goes out to your sister-in-law, her husband, and all those who love and cares for her! As I was reading your story I couldn’t help but cry! There are so many of us touched by some form of cancer these days whether it ourselves or a loved one. I remember reading about the loss of your mother to cancer just when my own mother was battling Ovarian Cancer Stage 3. I happy to report she is in remission! Praise The Lord and MD Anderson’s staff of great doctors and treatment! I just went though a total Hysterectomy last week as a precaution.
I will say special prayers for LaVone and keep you all in my prayers Patsy! Thanks for sharing and God Bless!
