Yesterday I arrived in St. George, Utah for the amazing Founder's Circle Retreat. The Top 100 demonstrators in the US and the Top 20 in Canada are invited to this prestigious 5 day event. Be sure and visit my Facebook page for upto date happenings. If you don't already would love to have you "like" my page.
Today's throw back Thursday I will be showing you the card I made for the card swap in 2011 and an re-created it. No you don't get to see this years swap until tomorrow, since we will be swapping tonight. For those that may not know what a card swap is, it is where you make a particular number of cards and swap them with others. For Founder's Circle this year there will be 113 swappers.
Same card design – new colors – different stamp set it would be fun to try this with many different stamp sets and see how they all turn out. So when in a pinch and can't figure out what to stamp. Just pick out one of your favorite cards and recreate it with new colors and stamps.
Using the 2011 template I created this card with From My Heart Stampin' Up! stamp set. I stamped the image on Very Vanilla with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad and then re-stamped it on Strawberry Slush and cut out the friendship banner and layered it on top of the very vanilla stamped image. This technique is known as paper piecing. Haven't seen this technique before or want a refresher you can check out my previous Week 48, How To Video series click here.
