The next few Throw Back Thursdays will be a review of my 52 Weeks of Technique How To's. The technique video will be the same, however I will be making an updated sample of the technique for you to enjoy.
Everyone loves the Technique How To Video and Tutorial pages that can be compiled to create and entire booklet of 52 Stamping Techniques.
This week in review is from Week 32,The Gate Fold Latch Card.
For complete details of how to create a Gate Fold Card click here to watch the video.
Love this card and you must order some of the Under the Tree Specialty Designer Series Paper. It is designer paper that is the weight of cardstock and makes the perfect Gate Fold Latch cards.
For the card I created the base using Early Espresso cardstock. The cards front I ran through the big shot using the Lucky Stars Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.
I used the 3 3/4" & the 2 3/4" Star Framelit together to cut out the Red Star, and the 2 3/4" to cut out a solid green star and the 1 3/4" to cut out the brown star.
The stars when folding create the perfect gate and latch. On the inside I placed a piece of 4" x 5 1/4" to stamp the sentiment from the Bright & Beautiful stamp set in Cherry Cobbler Classic Ink.
To finish the card off I stamped "Merry Christmas", from the Petite Pairs stamp set, and cut it out with the Big Shot using the Bitty Banners Framelits. The star is Champagne Glimmer paper that I punched out with the Confetti Stars Punch – yes I had lots of little stars, the don't call it the Confetti Star Punch for nothing.
I simply adore the Star Framelits with 5 layering dies the largest star is 4-3/4" diameter.
You can use any shape or size of layering framelits to create these fun gate cards. Give it a try and I would love to hear what shape you used.
