I wanted to share a really quick post with you this morning. Tomorrow is my monthly card making day with my Senior Living friends. I volunteer the first Tuesday of each month to make cards with the residents of the Nelson Gables. There is a wide range of age and ability.
This stamp set "Flower Fancy" is one my granddaughter picked out to keep when it retired and it is a great set to use tomorrow as the residents LOVE to color. The card base for both cards is Pastachio Pudding which is retiring and the designer paper is the Painted Blooms featured in the Occasions Catalog.
Last month I took my Stampin' Write Markers for the first time. Usually they color with color pencils or crayola markers. They noticed right away how easy our markers are to use and what amazing coverage they have. They asked if I would bring them again and I promised to bring them again this month.
You can see they are both really quick and easy cards. But then don't we all Love Quick & Easy Hand Stamped Cards?
Patsy, I’m interested in volunteering to help people make cards. It may be Seniors at our local Senior Center, women at a shelter or teens at 4H, but I’m wondering some things…Do you supply all the supplies? How many people do you recommend in a group? How many of each tool do you need to have on hand, like cutters, ink pads, blocks, markers? How much prep do you do as far as pre-cutting or pre-stamping? Do you set up stations for different cards or do each card together? What would be a good starter card to make where they could learn some new things, but not be overwhelmed, and also be proud of their product? Anything else I need to know? lol
Thanks!
Rhonda H
Patsy, I looked for an option to receive replies to my comment, but couldn’t find one. Will you be able to email me an answer or should I come back to your blog periodically to look for it? thanks

Thanks Patsy!
Patsy, I would love to have the answers to these questions as well.
We all need to “give back” and our Seniors are too often overlooked.
Thanks in advance!
The questions I was referring to were from Rhonda H.

Here are the questions and answers Rhonda asked and I replied to her via PM several have requested I post them here.Do you supply all the supplies? I do supply all the supplies (except for glue sticks and scissors) there are usually 8-10 people there..How many people do you recommend in a group? I never know ahead of time it is pretty informal they just go collect people to come. The Sr. Living place I am at several have memory issues and they are all pretty old close to nursing home care. How many of each tool do you need to have on hand, like cutters, ink pads, blocks, markers? I use to take stamps and everything with and we would do a Round Robin stamping one would stamp pass it to the next one. But some after 5 years of stamping with me it is more difficult for them. Like the cards today I pre-stamped them and they will color and put them together. It just depends on the group for now that is what is needed. The do good gluing and even they are great at cutting things out. How much prep do you do as far as pre-cutting or pre-stamping? Pre cut all cardstock and most often stamp (Not always). It is more like they assemble that is why the coloring is a good option Do you set up stations for different cards or do each card together? Most are not able to get around an need to sit they have a large round table and we just pass things around the table. What would be a good starter card to make where they could learn some new things, but not be overwhelmed, and also be proud of their product? I dont think it is so much about learning anything new just stamping most of them had never stamped before. They love it. I do not sell anything at this just an activity for them to do. Anything else I need to know? It might take a few times to get a feel for what the group can handle when I started 5 years ago most of them where able to stamp and enjoy it but now they want me to stamp it for them (that is why I started stamping them before I got there). Good luck it is fun and they enjoy it so much and look forward to seeing me each month. For a few more samples of cards we have made type Nelson Gables in the search bar of my blog
