This is one of the cards featured in the Annual Catalog (pg. 109) and stamped by one of the Stampin' Up! concept artists using the Serene Silhouettes Stamp Set. The catalog is filled with great art work and when I first started stamping the catalog was the only place for me to find inspiration. There were no stamping blogs and no card ideas online. Hard to imagine it isn't it with thousands of stamping blogs and Pinterest and endless supply of samples. I still go back to the catalog often for my inspiration.
In the beginning I cased everything, it took me many years to start to create on my own an I still often start with a card sketch to get me going. Or I look at the catalog find a card I like and adjust it a bit.
This card was inspired by the card below – while similar – very different
This card is on page 27 of the Catalog.
The Stampin' Up! catalog was originally called the Idea Book & Catalog, while the name has changed – it is still an amazing Idea Book!
Do you like to CASE or create or both? CASE stands for “Copy and Share Everything.” The best inspiration for cardmaking comes from admiring other people’s cards. Sometimes also called “scraplifting.”
