It's Border Buddy Saturday and it's Alison here today. Patsy and I give away free cards every single month and today I'm sharing one of those cards with you! Let me give you a little background on our Free Card Program. Each month we choose two stamp sets and we each make 2 cards with each set. Then we prepare an 8 page PDF with all the instructions, measurements and supplies and give it as a thank you gift to our customers who purchase through our online stores. That's all you have to do – place any size order through our store. It gets better….when that order is $50 or more we send you two of the cards in the mail! My customers love receiving the cards each month.
This month one of our stamp sets is High Tide and I'm so thrilled it's going to be in the next Annual Catalogue so you can use the PDF in the future too. This card uses a fabulous designer paper stack called Serene Scenery and it had some fabulous designs including this one that looked like the shore and ocean. Sadly it's retired and has already sold out. You could create a similar look with a watercolour wash technique.
The lighthouse is a two step technique where you use two images, one on top of the other, to create a multi coloured final image. In Vancouver we have many lighthouses because we are on the water and so I have a natural love for them. I stamped the lighthouse and then stamped the sentiment on top.
These cars were created by the talented concept artists at Stampin' Up! You can make any colour lighthouse using the two step method and add all the other elements easily because the stamps are photopolymer and you can see right where to place them.
