Sunday Sketches is where I create a card using one of my card sketches or sometimes called template. It is an easy starting point when creating a hand stamped card.
Sketches are open to interpretation. You can create a card exactly using the sketch layout, using a square where there is a square, or you can change it to a be a circle, or oval or flower etc. You can also turn the sketch so if it is a vertical sketch you might want to turn it to be horizontal.
Let your imagination run wild!
Birthday Greetings is stamped in Real Red Classic Ink, the sentiment is from the Birthday Delivery Stamp Set. The fun cake was cut out from the Birthday Memories Designer Series Paper (DSP) using the Birthday Friends Framelits and Big Shot.
The Birthday Friends Framelits coordinate with the Birthday Delivery Stamp Set but also with the super cute vintage Birthday Memories DSP. You can see here where one fox is stamped in Basic Black and cut out the other fox is cut out of the DSP.
The 1/2" Gingham Ribbon really makes this card complete. The gingham ribbons come in Night of Navy & White or Smoky Slate & White.
Card Measurements…
- Card Base: Night of Navy 4-1/4" x 11"
- DSP: 4" x 5-1/4"
- Whisper White: 2" x 3 -1/2"

Good morning, Patsy. Yes, I do send out birthday cards to my family and friends. I finally figured out a system that works for me (of course, I’m retired and don’t have to blog and film videos daily). I use a rolodex and write the name, address, phone number, and the date of the birthday. I put the rolodex cards in order according to the month of the birthday, then the date. Then a month before I start making cards. For example, on the first of October, I start working on cards for November birthdays. November first, I start working on December birthday cards and so on. Thank you for sharing your cards with us. They are always beautiful.

Good morning. My most needed card these days is “Thinking of you.” We have many with cancer and other physical ailments that do not allow them to be out and about. I want them to know someone cares and that is the card I have to really stay on top to get enough to send. Thank you for all my inspiration and for Stampin’up’s stamps and sentiments.

I am in charge of birthday cards for my Sunday school class,so I make lots of them. I always look forward to getting ideas for simple sketches that lend themselves to many
interpretations.

Hi Dee, Thanks for taking the time to comment I love hearing from readers. It does seem so many people are afflicted with cancer or illness. And from personal experience while a card seems like a simple thing it means so much.

We had a women at church that sent our entire family cards on their birthdays when our kids where young. She passed away and they would often comment on how they missed their cards so it does mean a great deal to them. Keep up the great card sending.
