Snowflakes have been swirling here in Minnesota already for the past few weeks.
Snowflakes are amazing things, they say there are not two alike. I started to think about that and wondered if the saying was true so I googled it. I got lots of poems about snowflakes and then came across an interesting article…
"The Science of Snowflakes, Why No Two are Alike".
So if you are as curious as me you can check out the link.
Snowflakes are fascinating and maybe that is why like tree stamps I really can't have too many. I could not resist the Swirling Snowflakes Thinlits Dies, so delicate and versatile.
I love how my card turned out today using the SS008 Card Sketch. Check back to the original card I created to see how different the two are. You can see how using the same layout but changing up the stamp set and colors can give it an entirely new look.
- Card Base is the Whisper White Thick Cardstock (5-1/2" x 8-1/2") I love this cardstock as it is the same thickness as our colored cardstocks giving the base such a nice sturdy feel.
- I ran the card front through the big shot using the White Wonder embossing folder.
- Then I used the borders from the dies to cut out the Real Red cardstock (2-1/2" x 5-1/2") and then attached some gold sequins to the back of the first snowflake with them hanging down and then attached the cardstock to the card front about 1/4" from the top.
- Then I cut out the row of snowflakes in Whisper White and cut them apart to create 3 individual snowflakes and adhered them to the Real Red Cardstock.
- Tied a small bow out of the 1/8" Gold Ribbon and attached it with a glue dot to the first snowflake.
I am in love with the Swirly Snowflake Thinlits Dies and can see using this a lot throughout the winter. How many love snowflakes and if you live where it is warm do you still use snowflakes for card making? Click Here to Answer

Thank you Janet I love this the Swirly Snowflakes Thinlits Die!
I also love snowflakes & live in MN. I especially love to look out after a new snowfall & see the beauty of Mother Nature…….I hate it when someone comes along & disturbs the new fallen snow!! Beautiful card…….the red is a nice pop of color…….I have seen it in blue & silver but the red is nice. Plus, red is MY favorite color. I can imagine there could never be 2 snowflakes that are alike…….isn’t it great??

I feel that way about fallen leaves in the fall I beg my husband to leave them there just for a few days untouched. He loves his grass and picks up the leaves several times in the fall and I just want them to stay. Thanks for stopping by and thanks for the note.
Snowflakes, snowmen…sadly in Central Texas we do not get much snow! Make do with collecting snowmen and decorating with snowmen and snowflakes.
